    Responsibilities

    The Director of Strategy is a data enthusiast and a creative storyteller.  With an understanding of our client’s business, they inspire action-driving ideas as well as guiding the strategic development of a program through to execution and measurement.  The Strategy Director works with account leads and creative teams providing a clear, concise point of view, supported by data, for how to solve business issues. 

     

    Core Job Responsibilities:

    • Work with senior account team to define key strategic opportunties and their potential impact on the client/agency relationship and goals
    • Work with planning and account team to draft/refine the strategic story and the creative brief
    • Support preparation of key elements for briefing sessions
    • Support program development leveraging channel / retailer specific expertise and intelligence
    • In partnership with senior account team, present recommendations, identified strategies, and final programs to the client
    • Lead development of direct reports through mentorship, coaching and ongoing performance feedback and identification of learning opportunities

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, a behavioral science field or or retail-oriented marketing such as category /trade management, sales or shopper marketing
    • 6–8 years of Strategic Planning experience within the disciplines of shopper, brand, or sales strategy within an agency setting
    • Shopper and Customer/Trade marketing experience within the retail landscape (5+ years)
    • Applied experience with database tools and systems such as Simmons, MRI, Kantar, or equivalent
    • Ability to communicate clearly, thoroughly and succinctly both verbally and in written form
    • Ability to analyze results, interpret data, draw sound conclusions, and develop insightful and actionable recommendations
    • Strong attention to detail and organization, demonstrated through actions such as:
      • Effectively proofing own and others work to ensure accuracy
      • Actively and effectively managing timelines and deliverables of multiple projects and ad hoc requests simultaneously to meet pre-determined deadlines
